For many orthopedic patients, treating the injured or painful area is only part of the solution. Pain, injury, surgery, or reduced activity can be accompanied by weakness and deconditioning of the muscles that support normal movement.
We may incorporate EMSCULPT NEO into a personalized program to target these muscle deficits and complement an appropriate rehabilitation and progressive strengthening program.
After Orthobiologic Treatments
We use EMSCULPT NEO as part of the recovery and rebuilding process following orthobiologic procedures, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow concentrate (BMC), and microfragmented adipose tissue (MFAT) treatments.
After a procedure, EMSCULPT NEO can target the muscles surrounding and supporting the treated area, helping restore muscle activation and conditioning as you progress through rehabilitation and return to strength and activity.
Timing and treatment areas are individualized based on the procedure, diagnosis, stage of recovery, and rehabilitation goals.

EMSCULPT NEO can be customized around two different, but often complementary, goals.

Our functional protocols emphasize targeted muscle activation and conditioning to complement rehabilitation and support strength, stability, movement, and physical performance.
Depending on the patient’s needs, we may target:

Treatment areas are selected based on your diagnosis, areas of weakness, movement patterns, and individual goals.

Emsculpt Neo for FORM
For patients interested in body composition and aesthetics, EMSCULPT NEO can also be used to build muscle while addressing localized fat and improving muscle definition.

How EMSCULPT NEO Works
EMSCULPT NEO combines two technologies within a single treatment.
HIFEM+® Electromagnetic Stimulation
HIFEM+® technology induces powerful, repeated contractions in targeted muscles.
Within a functional program, we use this muscle stimulation to activate and condition selected muscle groups as part of a broader strategy that may also include physical rehabilitation, progressive strengthening, and other recovery modalities.
Radiofrequency (RF)
RF energy provides controlled heating of the targeted tissue and works alongside HIFEM+® technology. Depending on the treatment protocol and area, this combination can address both muscle and localized fat.
Clinical Research
Peer-reviewed MRI studies of combined HIFEM+® and synchronized RF have reported approximately 30% reduction in localized fat thickness and 25% increase in muscle thickness following treatment. Individual results vary.

A Personalized Protocol
EMSCULPT NEO is tailored to each patient’s needs, goals, and stage of recovery.
Each body region requires an approximately 30-minute treatment session. If multiple body regions are being treated, each region requires its own treatment session. For example, treating the abdomen and lower back would involve two separate 30-minute sessions.
Your treatment plan is personalized based on your goals, diagnosis, treatment areas, and whether the emphasis is functional rebuilding, body sculpting, or a combination of both.
Functional & Rebuilding Programs: Typically 8 or more sessions per treatment region, individualized according to the muscle groups being treated, stage of recovery, and patient progress.
Abdominal Sculpting: Typically a series of approximately 6 sessions.
Treatment areas and protocols may evolve as strength, function, and recovery progress.

Rebuilding should be measurable.
When appropriate, we incorporate InBody body composition analysis, objective assessments, and follow-up evaluations to establish a baseline and track changes over time.
This can help us measure changes in areas such as muscle mass and body composition while monitoring your overall functional progress and helping guide the next phase of your personalized treatment plan.

Is EMSCULPT NEO only for body sculpting?
No. While EMSCULPT NEO is well known for body contouring, at Sampson Regen we also incorporate it into selected functional and orthopedic treatment programs to target and condition muscles important for movement, stability, and performance.
Can EMSCULPT NEO be used after PRP, BMC, or MFAT treatments?
In appropriate patients, yes. We may incorporate EMSCULPT NEO during the recovery and rebuilding phase following PRP, BMC, MFAT, or other orthobiologic treatments. Timing is determined by your physician based on the procedure performed, treatment area, diagnosis, and stage of recovery.
What does treatment feel like?
Patients typically experience a series of strong muscle contractions along with a warming sensation. Treatment intensity is adjustable, and anesthesia is not required.
Is there downtime?
EMSCULPT NEO is non-invasive, and most patients can return to normal daily activities immediately following treatment.
How long is each treatment?
Each body region requires an approximately 30-minute treatment session. If your personalized program includes more than one body region, each region is treated in its own session. For example, the abdomen and lower back would represent two 30-minute treatment sessions.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on your goals and treatment plan. Abdominal sculpting programs are typically around 6 sessions, while functional and muscle-rebuilding programs commonly involve 8 or more sessions pretreatment region.
Your program may be adjusted based on your progress and individual needs.
What areas can be treated?
Depending on your individual needs and the appropriate protocol, treatment may include the abdomen, glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, arms, lower back, and other selected muscle groups.
